ENGLISH - Chapter News, July 7, 2006.
After
having prayed the morning prayer and the Mass starting
at 6:30AM, the The Chapter Fathers have begun their
first day of sessions dedicated to the participation of
consecrated and lay people that share our Vocationist
charism. In today’s sessions, the following presented
their reports: 1) Pre-Chapter commission on “Incidence
of the charism in Italy”, read by Fr. James Capraro, sdv;
2) The Vocationist Sisters, read by Mother General, Sr.
Antonietta Colafemmina; 3) Vocationist Apostles of
Universal Sanctification, read by the directress Marisa
Sepe; 4) Pre-Chapter commission “Incidence of charism in
our parish and ecclesial groups” by Fr. Giuseppe
Ferrara; 5) “Friends of fr. Justin” Group, read by the
President Emilio Tamburrino; 6) Pre-Chapter commission
on “The Brazilian Province”, read by the Provincial José
Carlos Lima; 7) The “Vocationist Cooperators for
Mission”, read by Mrs. Liliana Balestrieri; 8) Movement
of ‘Servants of the Living Christ’ read by Fr. Michele
Vassallo; 9) Vocations ‘s Prayer Groups read by Mrs.
AnnaMaria Arcucci.
After each presentation, there were questions and
clarifications to which the readers responded to. The
experience has been really positive both for the Chapter
Fathers and for all those who have participated.
Tomorrow we will continue with nine other reports.

Our second day dedicated to the involvement of the
branches of the Vocationist family in the Chapter works
has continued with the presentation of the following
reports: 1) Shepherds of
Youth, read by the president Mr. Roger Siebel; 2)
Prechapter commission “Actuality and Relevance of the
charism in USA”, read by fr. Antonio L. da Silva; 3)
Group “Irmas volontarias de Cristo Rei”, read by the
Directress Maria dos Santos Carqueija; 4) Prechapter
commission “Actuality and Relevance of the charism in
Nigeria”, read by Fr. Lawrence Okwuosa; 5) Group “Sons
of light”, letta da Paulo Moreira; 6) Prechapter
commission “Actuality and Relevance of the charism in
India”, letta da fr Antony Pittappilly; 7) Group of
study ““Actuality and Relevance of the charism in the
Philippines”, read by fr. Edmundo Escobal.
Following the approval of the regulations, Fr. General
read the first 5 paragraphs of the Report on the
Status of the Congregation. At the end of each
paragraphs everyone has had the possibilità to make
comments and observation about wehat was said.
Sunday July 9 the Chapter’s sessions have been
suspended.
Chapter News, July 10, 2006
Today we continue the sessions of the Chapter with
revision of the Chapter regulations. Particular interest
and time has been debated about article 39 of the
regulations concerning the presentation of the
candidates before the election to the office. After
approving all the regulations, the date for the election
of Fr. General has been established: Saturday July 15,
2006. For this occasion the Chapter president, fr Louis
Caputo is asking the entire congregation to prepare for
this event with an hour of Eucharistic adoration to be
held the evening of Friday July 14.
The sessions then continued with the reading of the
first 5 chapters of the report of the status of the
congregation, prepared and read by Fr. General. At the
end of every chapter the Fr. General has given
opportunity to make comments and clarify what he said.
Chapter News, July 11, 2006
Today’s Mass has been celebrated by His Excelency Mons.
DiMarzio, Archbishop of the diocese of Brooklyn, New
York, USA. Bishop Di Marzio spoke about his closeness to
the Vocationist family since his first contact with our
priests in Newark, NJ since our first extablishment in
USA.
In toda’s chapter sessions we have continued reading and
commenting about the report of the status of the
congregation read by Fr. General. The following topic
have been addressed: 5) Vocation and formation; 6)
Parishes; 7) Missions; 8) Schools; 9)Real estate assets
of the Congregation; 10) Fr Justin.
The report will continue tomorrow by addressing the last
10 paragraphs.
Chapter News, July 12, 2006.
Today’s Mass was celebrated by our Vocationist Nigerian
priest and the Novices of the Vocationist Sisters sung
songs in Igbo, a Nigerian local language.
In today’s four chapter sessions, our Superior General,
fr. Louis Caputo, has finished to read his report on the
status of the Congregation, with the last 10 paragraphs,
that are as follow: 11) Light & Shadows; 12) Guidelines
of the XII General Chapter (2000); 13) Statements of the
XII General Chapter; 14) Affairs of the XII General
Chapter; 15) Reccomandationas of the XII General
Chapter; 16) Branches of the Vocationist Family; 17)
Pending cases; 18) Painful cases; 19) Towards the
future; 20) Conclusion.
After the reading of each paragraph followed the chance
of asking questions and clarifications.
At 9:00PM the Chapter Fathers gathered in the Chapter
Hall for the opening of the envelopes sent by our
confreres to express a preference for the next Superior
General. Night Prayers followed the opening of ballots.
